6.1.6.4. Active Directory¶
Active Directory (AD) is a directory service for Windows Server. Active Directory stores information about network objects and enables administrators and users to find and use this information.
6.1.6.4.1. ADDS¶
The component that provides directory services in Active Directory is called Active Directory Domain Services (ADDS), which is responsible for the storage of directory databases, additions, deletions, modifications, and other tasks. It can be used in a variety of local area network and wide area network scenarios.
6.1.6.4.2. Namespaces¶
A namespace is a defined area in which information related to it can be found by name.
6.1.6.4.3. Objects and Properties¶
The resources in ADDS all exist in the form of objects, and objects describe their characteristics through attributes.
